Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art - from ' Best of Vegas'.

The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art at the AAA Five Diamond Award Bellagio Resort is one of the best places in Las Vegas to see works of art by the world's most renowned and influential artists. From contemporary works to classical masterpieces, the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art houses paintings, sculptures, photographs, and mixed media work, generally by accepted mainstream artists. Though many were skeptical about the opening of an art gallery in Las Vegas, a city often known for its less classy pursuits, the gallery has been a temporary home to an extensive amount of fine art and become well-respected even by art critics. Some of the past exhibits have included works by Monet, Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Ansel Adams. Even pieces from the collection of actor-comedian Steve Martin have been shown at the Gallery.

Today, guests to the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art can experience figurative works by such artists as Pierre-August Renoir, Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti, Joseph Cornell, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hickney, Judith Shea, Bill Viola, Yoshitoma Nara, Vanessa Beecroft and many other in the exhibit “Figuratively Speaking: A Survey of the Human Form.”
Featuring more than 40 paintings, photographs and sculptures along with video installments by 29 artists whose traditional and contemporary perspectives on figurative art helped define the genre in the late 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries, “Figuratively Speaking: A Survey of the Human Form” is an impressive array of some of the most beautiful art Las Vegas has ever seen.

This spectacular exhibit and it’s artwork have been shared to the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art from the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and t he Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. “Figuratively Speaking: A Survey of the Human Form” will be displayed alongside works from the MGM Resorts International Fine Art Collection including art by Renoir, Picasso, Edgar Degas and Fernand Leger.

“Figuratively Speaking: A Survey of the Human Form” will be in display through January 9, 2011.
After the end of the tour through the gallery, guests can browse and shop the adjacent store, which offers merchandise related to the exhibit as well as unique gift items, books, toys, and jewelry. Movie lovers will also enjoy being in one of the settings of the movie Ocean's 11, as the Bellagio Gallery was Julia Roberts' workplace in the movie. Nevertheless, it is certainly worth a visit for its fine art alone, even if you're not an art expert. Next time you take a break from the casinos, make sure to see the latest exhibit and enjoy this touch of culture and class in Las Vegas.
