About Madame Tussauds Las Vegas - from Best of Vegas

Just because you didn’t see any celebrities in the nightclubs during your Las Vegas vacation doesn’t mean you can’t go home with a dozen pictures of yourself posing next to famous stars. At Madame Tussauds wax museum and attraction, you’ll find over a hundred famous figures poised and ready to meet you – not in the flesh, but in the wax. The museum features Hollywood stars, TV stars, musicians, cultural icons, sports and racing figures, legendary gangsters, world leaders, and even Las Vegas legends.
Unlike most wax museums, Madame Tussauds encourages people to touch and take pictures with the figures. Hang with Britney Spears, who’s also hanging off a stripper pole. Walk down the red carpet with Jennifer Lopez, who looks stunningly like the real J-Lo in a beautiful gown. Sing for Simon Cowell on the American Idol stage – he’ll tell you you’re the worst singer he’s ever heard, just like the real Simon. Or perch in a director’s chair next to Cameron Diaz, who’s on the set of her latest movie. You’ll have a blast looking at all the figures and learning about their histories. And unlike other wax museums, where the wax figures are easily distinguishable from the real people by their silence and immobility, some of the figures at Madame Tussauds are interactive. Grab Jennifer Lopez’s famous derrière and she’ll blush.
Madame Tussauds also features the Chamber of Horrors, where you’ll find that a maximum security prison has been taken over by its killing-bent inmates. But you’re just in a wax museum – nothing can harm you, right? In the chamber, your mind will play tricks on you and nightmares are sure to follow that night.
And when you’re done viewing all the figures, you can learn how they’re made with the Behind the Scenes display, which discusses Madame Tussauds' history and goes through the process of creating a wax figure. It takes approximately 350 hours to sculpt a figure and requires about 160 measurements and 150 to 200 photographs of the subject. You can even have a figure of yourself cast for $300,000 – though it’s much less creepy to just enjoy the celebrity figures at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas.
